This is an online Training.
Autism is a spectrum disorder, meaning that there is a wide degree of variation in the way it affects children. Every child on the autism spectrum has unique abilities, symptoms, and challenges. Learning about the different autism spectrum disorders (ASD) will help you better understand the child, get a handle on what all the different autism terms mean, and make it easier to communicate.
At the end of this training, participants will be able to define ASD and identify needs of children with ASD and related disabilities in order to provide individual supports in the classroom.
Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related disabilities, will benefit from an inclusive setting that accommodates their individual needs.
Participants will:
- Gain a better understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Recognize ASD red flags
- Learn sensory differences demonstrated by some children on the spectrum
- Understand simple classroom supports
