Social-emotional development is at the heart of early childhood education. The relationship between social-emotional and brain development underscores the critical role that both parents and providers play in the long-term health and well-being of young children.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Understand how social-emotional development unfolds during 0 to 5 years of age in young children and support measures/ systems
  2. Identify areas of the brain involved in social interactions and attachment in social-emotional reactions
  3. Discuss the effect of stress on social-emotional development
  4. Understand the development of empathy

Important Notes: To receive CEUs, participants must adhere to attendance policy (see below), actively participate in class discussions and exercises, complete all assignments, and complete & submit evaluations. Training dates are subject to change. 

Attendance Policy:  Please plan accordingly for your commute as South Florida traffic and weather can be challenging. Arriving on time demonstrates respect for your facilitator and colleagues time. Participants more than 15 minutes late or who do not complete the training will NOT receive credit for the course. You will be asked to register for the next available session (if applicable).
